Programming Software while on a kilimanjaro trekking Holiday

Any guesses of all the things in the world what I was doing on a trek, I don’t think anyone can do it so let me enlighten you. Of all the things in the world I was programming software while on a trekking holiday, that’s right you have read it right. Generally I don’t consider myself a nerd and not that I like to carry a laptop for a trek, but this time it was different.

It must have occurred to you that I am a programmer by trade, along with being someone who likes to create electronic music and trekking. Now that’s why I brought along my Laptop, which is all that I would need for me to churn out some music at the top of a mountain, or so I thought. The gods having other ideas, like putting it into my bosses that need some code repaired immediately. Knowing that I would be having a laptop, the information provided by yours truly and that’s what I get programming software while on a trekking holiday, serves me right too.

Well so here I am paying for being so naïve as to give so much detail as to get myself cornered programming software while on a trekking holiday seated in my tent while my friends are having fun. Well not that I am not having fun, because as much as I would love to trek but playing with the machine be it making music or coding, they are first love.

So programming software while on a trekking holiday might seem the most boring thing to do, but if it is something that you love then you find a way to surpass the barrier. Well I know I am singing the sour grapes story in reverse, but seriously once we overcome the initial disappointment it is a matter of perspective. 

My bosses are no evil hell bent upon sabotaging my well earned and provided by them trip to as just enjoy seeing me programming software while on a trekking holiday. That’s the point, a job which was considered done by all parties’ raises an ugly head, and the guy who is the only one to sort it out in time is given the privilege to do it. That’s right, it’s my baby and I wouldn’t be happy knowing that I was not allowed to do my job. So, here I am programming software while on a trekking holiday, not making music, not getting my backside skinned but yet having fun.

Now that’s not something that everyone gets to say or do.  Well so that put me programming software while on a trekking holiday in a very unique position, don’t you agree. How many can say in this rat race world can do what I am doing and get paid for it too, either way, don’t feel sorry for me, I forgot to tell you, I always work like this, only this time I am on a trek, next time maybe I will be in tanzania.
